Motherboard
Installation
The cost specified
is the labour cost to install a motherboard into your computer.
Most mainboards
fail due to heat, electronic failure (blown capacitors), unexpected
power loss, defective power supplies, a power surge or simply poor
quality hardware.
The price specified
applies to installations into a generic clone computer.
Mainboard installations
into proprietary computers, such as Dell's, HP's or Compaq's might
be charged extra. These computers will also often need specific
types of mainboards (proprietary mainboard layout) which could be
cost prohibitive. Many boards from HP or Compaq can simply not be
obtained, though often we have made generic boards work in them
with few modifications. Dell boards are always proprietary in layout.
However, they are available most of the time. Though often there
is a substantial time delay to get them. Then can also be costly.
Apple and Lenovo
(IBM) mainboards can be obtained within two working days (most)
but might be costly.
Toshiba mainboards
arrive mostly within about 1 week.
Installations
into a laptop computer will cost more.
Most mainboard
installation fees are bundled with a system
diagnostic fee or laptop diagnostic
fee.
Often an OS
installation or OS repair is necessary in order to make a new
replacement board work. Hence, the OS
installation fee will apply in addition to the mainboard installation
cost.
With the OS
installation/repair we will configure and install all necessary
device drivers.
Sometimes we
cannot find a mainboard, even generic types, that are compatible
with all the other hardware you currently own, hence, new memory
or a new processor will need to be purchased in addition to the
mainboard.
The mainboard
cost is extra. Some mainboard costs are shown here.
However, most of the boards needed for repair are not listed, as
we need to get a board that is somewhat specific to the type of
hardware you currently own, e.g.; it will need to work with your
your CPU and memory in order to keep the cost as low as possible.
Most mainboards
we sell come with a 3year manufacturer warranty (Asus).
We sell primarily Asus mainboards..
Labour costs
do not come with any form of warranties or guarantees and are non-refundable.
