Data Backup
A flat fee is
charged when we backup your data, it will vary depending on the
media and amount of data as specified on the price sheet.
In most cases
we will remove your hard drive from your machine and hook it up
to one of our data backup servers.
Data is often
encrypted or was user password protected. To gain access to your
data, various preparatory steps might be required.
Then we will
initialized the data backup. While your data is copied, the server
will scan for viruses and spyware. We will copy the contents onto
one of our data backup servers. Once the data is copied, we will
verify the original data size with the data copied onto the server.
We never backup applications or application directories, as they
are not usable when copied back onto an installation. Applications
have to be re-installed to gain access to your data. E.g. to be
able to read a word document created in Microsoft Word, you will
need to re-install the application in order for you to access this
file.
Once the data
backup is completed we will copy your data onto either your media
provided, a new hard drive, a usb flash drive, dvd/cd disks or whatever
media you prefer. Pricing is dependent on the media type you choose
and the amount of data as specified on the price sheet.
There is no
warranties or guarantees on data backups. You are ultimately liable
and responsible for your data. If you feel you miss data after our
data backup, we can re-check your source drive for more data at
additional cost.
Keep in mind
that data can be lost due to data corruption (bad hardware), virus
infection, encryption etc.
Data recovery
is another option to retrieve in-advertantly deleted data, or data
lost through data corruptiong or hard drive failure.
